The Program in Asian and Middle East Studies at the College of William and Mary seeks applications from scholars for a tenure-track position at the rank of associate professor for appointment as the Sultan Qaboos bin Said Professor in Middle East Studies. Sultan Qaboos professorships have been established at leading universities worldwide through generous gifts from His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sultan of Oman.
The appointment will begin August 10, 2014. Applicants are welcome from a variety of disciplinary traditions within Middle East Studies. We are particularly interested in scholars with a strong publication record and active research program who engage with political economy, national and transnational social movements, and political thought.
