The Prométhéd webinar “Problems and methods of editing medieval texts” is organized by Grégory Clesse, FNRS research fellow at the Catholic University of Louvain, and Florence Ninitte, post-doctoral researcher at the University of Nantes within the ERC Synergy Grant “The European Qur’an” (EuQu).
Workshop: European Visions of the Qur’ān in the Middle Ages (9th-15th centuries)

The aim of this two-day workshop will be to address the different perspectives from which the Qur’an was approached and to identify the various attitudes medieval Latin readers adopted towards it. The workshop is organized by Florence Ninitte and Irene Reginato, Post-doc researchers at the University of Nantes within the ERC Synergy Grant EuQu.
UIMP Summer School
The ERC Project EuQu will be holding a seminar at the University of Mendendez Pelayo in Santander, Spain.
Monday 22 March – Friday 26 June, 2021
The objective of this seminar is to analyse the role that the Qur’an had in interactions with Islam in modern and medieval Europe, in debates between Christians of various persuasions and doctrines and in criticism of Christianity during the Enlightenment, among other areas of investigation.
Throughout the sessions, we will examine the translations of the Qur’an, texts of religious controversy and European collections of Arabic manuscripts. Moreover, the presentations will be complemented with round-table debates where the most representative case studies will be explained. Note that the course will be taught by a group of leading international specialists in the field.
