The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University invite applications for the Al-Thani Chair from a senior scholar in Islamic Studies and History of Islam. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. with a significant publication and teaching record in the history of Islam, classical and modern, in the Arab world and South Asia and have an established track record as a leader in her/his field. The successful candidate should have an expertise and ability to teach courses in Islamic and Middle East history and related areas such as multi-faith relations, gender and human rights.
