Job: University Lecturer in 19th Century Mediterranean History (fixed-term, 3 years) / University of Cambridge — LIMITE : 13/06/2019
The Faculty of History is seeking to appoint a temporary University Lecturer in 19th Century Mediterranean History, based in central Cambridge. This is a fixed-term appointment for three years, tenable from 01 September 2019.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding scholar and teacher of Mediterranean History in the long 19th century, understood as including the history of Spain, Italy, and Southeast Europe. Preference will be given to candidates whose research displays a strong transnational and/or comparative focus. S/he will be an outstanding researcher in his/her field and expected to contribute to programmes at all levels, from undergraduate teaching to doctoral supervision.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills; show a commitment to supporting students academically; and be able and ready to co-operate in Faculty affairs, including undertaking administration.
The Faculty welcomes applications from both early-career scholars and those who have established careers. By the start of the appointment, the successful candidate must hold, or be close to completion of, a doctorate (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
