Assistant professor in the history of the Middle East and North Africa, Yeshiva University, New York (Etats-Unis) — LIMITE : 15/11/2013

Yeshiva University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the history of the Middle East and North Africa beginning in September 2014. Research specialization open, although we would be interested in candidates with subfields in gender history, the history and traditions of Islam, or social history, which would supplement the existing strengths of the history department. We seek a flexible teacher-scholar willing to offer a wide variety of undergraduate courses. Yeshiva is a Modern Orthodox institution that offers a liberal arts education in New York City. The successful candidate will divide her/his teaching between the two undergraduate men’s and women’s colleges (Yeshiva College and Stern College for Women). Ph.D. and teaching experience required. Send letter of application along with c.v., a short writing sample (article or chapter of dissertation), and three letters of recommendation to historysearch@yu.edu, by November 15, 2013.
