“Mediterranean circulation” Summers School

The XI edition of the Summer School, titled “Mediterranean Circulation” will take place in Procida, Naples, Italy, from 26 September to 1 October 2016, in the Conservatorio delle Orfane, one of the seats of the Università degli Studi di Napoli ‘L’Orientale’, and will involve a series of seminars and workshops held by internationally-known scholars and historians within various fields, focused on topics concerning the history of the Mediterranean area and the shared memories in the Mediterranean area.
Then, the Mediterranean that goes out by itself and circulates elsewhere, in Atlantic space, both in the modern age that in the geopolitics of the contemporary world.
In this key, the Summer School of Procida offers a series of lectures on different aspects of these disparate and apparently “Circulations” as: the routes of art, of aesthetic taste, of faith, of holiness; and the sea of cultures. The classes are structured as reflections, dialogues. Therefore, there are two interventions per session, on only partly contiguous and only partially distant issues, entrusted to international experienced academics.
May apply for participation:
- PhDs and doctoral students
- Graduates and students post-graduate degree or magistrale degree (II level)
- Graduates (four-year)
Participation is free and attendance is mandatory.
At the end of the summer school will be issued to all participants who have attended 85% of lessons, a certificate of participation.
Students of the University of Naples “L’Orientale” who have attended 85% of classes, will be given the opportunity to obtain the award of credits.
Requests to participate, with an attached CV, written on the appropriate form (application form in Italian), must be completed and signed on and sent no later than September 14, 2016 by email to: disus.didattica@unior.it
