Lecturer in Arabic, University of Rochester (État-Unis) — LIMITE : 01/11/2015

The Department of Religion and Classics invites applications for a full-time appointment as Lecturer in Arabic language. This is a three-year position, subject to annual review and potentially renewable, to begin fall, 2016.

Requirements:

M.A. or equivalent, and native or near-native proficiency in Arabic. Training in Second Language Teaching and Learning, experience teaching at the university level, and demonstrated ability teaching with an innovative curriculum, are highly preferred. Ph.D. degree would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

Candidates should be prepared to teach undergraduate courses at all levels (five-six courses per academic year). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a coherent program of instruction in Arabic, including design, preparation and implementation of syllabi, and assisting in extra-curricular activities for students (e.g. directing conversation groups).
