Assistant Professor, Arabic Language and Literature, Dartmouth College (États-Unis) — LIMITE : 15/10/2015

The Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Languages and Literatures invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank in Arabic Language and Literature. The appointment will become effective July 1, 2016, with teaching duties beginning in September 2016.
Candidates should have native or near-native proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic and English as well as a Ph.D in hand by the time of appointment. Area of specialty is open. Duties will include teaching Arabic language at all levels and courses in literature, joining the rotation of faculty directors for our study-abroad program in Rabat, Morocco, and working closely with colleagues to expand the Arabic language and literature curriculum. The teaching load is four courses per year.
Applicants should submit via Interfolio a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and writing sample (up to 25 pages). Three recommenders should submit letters to Interfolio separately. Review of applications will begin on 15 October 2015 and will continue until the position is filled.
We expect preliminary interviews to take place at the MESA conference in November and by Skype for those unable to attend the conference.
