The Department of History at Swarthmore College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in modern Middle Eastern history to begin with the fall semester of 2016.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. by the time of appointment, and we also invite applications from candidates holding assistant, advanced assistant, and associate positions at the time of application.
Candidates are expected to offer a range of courses including survey courses, first-year seminars, upper-division courses on Middle Eastern history as well as courses in the candidate’s area of specialization.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of application, c.v., and three letters of recommendation. The Department will begin to review applications by October 1, 2015.
