Assistant Professor of Sociology
The Sociology Department at the University of Pittsburgh seeks to fill two or three positions at the level of beginning or advanced Assistant Professor. Candidates who complement our departmental strengths in social movements, politics, and culture are preferred. We hope to fill at least one of the positions with a candidate with experience and expertise teaching and researching race, but for the other positions substantive areas are open.. The appointment(s) will be tenure-track at the Assistant Professor level and will begin in the fall of 2016, pending budgetary approval. The position(s) will require demonstrable excellence and promise in research and teaching. Complete applications received by September 1, 2015 will receive full consideration.
