Assistant Professor of Sociology, “Social Movements, Politics, and Culture”, Sociology Department, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh (États-Unis) — LIMITE : 01/09/2015

Assistant Professor of Sociology

The Sociology Department at the University of Pittsburgh seeks to fill two or three positions at the level of beginning or advanced Assistant Professor.  Candidates who complement our departmental strengths in social movements, politics, and culture are preferred. We hope to fill at least one of the positions with a  candidate with experience and expertise teaching and researching race, but for the other positions substantive areas are open..  The appointment(s) will be tenure-track at the Assistant Professor level and will begin in the fall of 2016, pending budgetary approval.  The position(s) will require demonstrable excellence and promise in research and teaching.  Complete applications received by September 1, 2015 will receive full consideration.

Applicants can apply online at: https://facultysearch.as.pitt.edu/apply/index/OTk=.

Candidates should submit a letter of application, CV, a one or two page description of research interests, one article-length sample of research writing, and three letters of reference. For each reference, you will have the opportunity to input an email address, and an email notification will be sent to the designated address with instructions about uploading the letters to our system. The University of Pittsburgh is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer and values equality of opportunity, human dignity and diversity.  Women and members of minority groups under-represented in academia are especially encouraged to apply.
