University of Oxford, Faculty of Oriental Studies invites applications for a full-time Instructorship in Persian, to commence on 1 October 2015. Teaching and research in Persian has a long and distinguished history at Oxford, and the Instructor will join a team of scholars in Persian and Iranian Studies, and related fields. The Instructor will be expected to give between 15 and 20 hours of instruction in every week of the University’s full term and to undertake administration, course development and examining when required. Candidates must have a native or equivalent command of Persian and be fluent in English; demonstrate a commitment to dynamic and effective language teaching; and have experience of teaching Persian as a foreign language in a university or equivalent higher educational institution. A first degree or postgraduate qualification in Persian language, language pedagogy or applied linguistics (or another relevant field in which Persian language forms the focus) would be an advantage.
