The University of California, Davis Classics Program announces a lecturer position to teach Arabic in a growing program. Primary duties are to teach eight (8) courses over three quarters, with the possibility of renewal. In addition to teaching duties, the instructor must hold a minimum of three regularly scheduled office hours per week to provide students with the opportunity for consultation outside of the classroom. Applicant must have a M.A. or a PhD. or be A.B.D, in Arabic or related field. Applicant should have experience teaching Modern Standard Arabic as a second language at the college level and the ability to teach one colloquial dialect of Arabic. Appointment dates are July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and teaching experience.
