Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges, invites applications for a one-year, full-time, Adjunct Professor position in Media Studies, integrating media theory/history and production and beginning Fall 2015.  This position will entail the following teaching requirements: 2-3 introductory level media studies courses and 2-3 intermediate/advanced media production courses, for a total 5-course load.  We are interested in candidates who have research interests in areas including interactive media, gaming, and digital art, in relationship to the experiences, practices, or needs of diverse practitioners, audiences, or communities, especially people of color, women, LGBTQ, and other historically marginalized groups in digital media.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.F.A. by the time of appointment, and college-level teaching experience.
