Tenure Track Position, Quantitative Methods, Virginia Tech (États-Unis) — LIMITE : 01/01/2015

Virginia Tech invites applications for one full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position in quantitative methods in the Department of Sociology at the Assistant Professor level to begin Fall, 2015. Applicants must be competent in advanced quantitative methods and statistics. Additional competency in survey design and analysis is preferred. Substantive areas of research are open. Applicants must have Ph.D. in hand at the start of appointment. We seek a scholar who will contribute to graduate training in advanced quantitative methods, maintain a productive research program, and contribute to both the graduate and undergraduate programs. The normal teaching load is two courses each semester.

The Department of Sociology grants the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in sociology with options in Africana Studies or Women’s and Gender Studies. The faculty includes about 30 tenure-track professors who have Ph.D.s in sociology, anthropology, ethnic studies, English, history, foreign languages, or African Diaspora studies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty from Virginia Bioinformatics Institute and the Network Dynamics and Simulation Science Laboratory. http://www.vbi.vt.edu/ndssl.
