Harvard University Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations Preceptor in Persian The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations seeks applications for a Preceptor in Persian position beginning July 2015.
The position is for one year, renewable on a yearly basis for up to eight years pending enrollments and performance. Teaching duties will include a minimum of five courses per year, including instruction in Persian language from the introductory to the advanced levels.
The successful applicant should be well versed on the issues of teaching Persian as a foreign language, and have experience in teaching all levels of Persian language, both classical and modern. Specialization in Persian literature, linguistics and culture, or intellectual history is highly desirable. A strong doctoral record is preferred.
A dossier including a letter of application, a CV, a statement of teaching philosophy, and contact information ONLY for three referees, should be submitted no later than November 30, 2014.
