Islamic and Middle Eastern studies — Job requirements :
Islamic and Middle Eastern studies between the years 600 and 2000. Preference will be given to those candidates who specialize in early Islamic history or in the history of the early-modern Muslim empires (Ottoman, Safavid or Mughal).
Responsibilities include the teaching of required and elective courses in the candidate’s field(s) of specialization (at the B.A. and M.A. degree levels) and related disciplines.
Successful candidates are expected to conduct independent and original research at the highest academic level, demonstrate academic leadership, apply for Israeli and international research grants, and cooperate with colleagues within the Faculty of Humanities and beyond. The language of instruction is Hebrew, but candidates who do not possess a mastery of Hebrew will be given the time to acquire facility of Hebrew during the first years of their appointment.
