Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of Pre-modern/Classical Arabic Literature and Culture, University of Colorado Boulder (Etats-Unis) — LIMITE : 01/11/2014

The Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Pre-modern/classical Arabic Literature and Culture to begin August 2015. Candidate should have research expertise in classical Arabic and its literatures and cultures with proficiency in Arabic. Language proficiency in Persian and/or Hindi/Urdu is an advantage. Research expertise may be in any period of Arabic literature before 1800, and may focus on any area where there was significant production of creative literature in poetry or prose. Job duties include teaching courses in Arabic literature and culture to undergraduate and graduate students, and service to the University. Candidates should have the PhD in hand prior to the start of the appointment.
