This richly illustrated talk explores Mughal manuscripts, murals, and other works featured in the exhibition India’s Great Mughals: Art, Power, and Opulence. Join Dr. Yael Rice as she considers the lives of Mughal painters. Overshadowed by Mughal emperors, these artists helped amplify and sustain Mughal dominance over the Indian subcontinent for more than three centuries. This insightful talk will examine the exquisite artistry used to advance the emperors’ ambitions as well as the aspirations of the artists themselves.
