Visiting Assistant Professor in Arabic Language and Arab Studies, College of Charleston (Etats-Unis) — LIMITE : URGENT
The School of Languages, Cultures and World Affairs (LCWA) at the College of Charleston invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position in Arabic language and Arab Studies to begin Fall 2014.
The successful candidate will have primary teaching responsibilities in Modern Standard Arabic, with a 3/3 teaching load.
The ideal candidate will have native or near native fluency in Arabic and/or a Ph.D. in Arabic language or literature or related field. As a minimum requirement, candidates should possess an advanced degree or certification in Arabic of at least 18 graduate hours. A candidate with a degree in a related discipline might teach in Arab Literature or Cinema or Arabic Studies, and will participate in a growing program in Arab Studies and Asian Studies that includes faculty in Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Art History, Literature, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Religious Studies and International Business. Building on its historic strength in languages (a two-year sequence required of all students and over 60 full-time faculty teaching foreign languages), the School of Languages, Cultures and World Affairs at the College of Charleston provides students with exceptional curricular programs in foreign languages and area studies.
