Appel à panels : SeSaMO Conference: “Beyond the Arab Uprisings: Rediscovering the MENA Region”, Ca’ Foscari University, Venise, 16-17/01/2015  — LIMITE : 30/04/2014

The Italian Society for Middle Eastern Studies (SeSaMO) invites scholars to apply to direct a panel focusing on any topic within Middle Eastern Studies for its next conference. Interdisciplinary proposals are welcome as well as proposals focusing on distinct areas of interest in the scholarship on the Middle East. Proponents are encouraged to opt for English or French as working languages.

Each panel proposal should include two workshop directors who ought to come from different institutions and must reach the organizing committee by 30 April 2014. Ideally, at least one director should be based outside of Italy so as to foster research collaboration and to promote the publication of the proceedings in international venues. The presence of a discussant is also strongly encouraged. The proposal should include a 2 to 4 page description outlining the objectives and scope of the proposed panel.
