Présentation du séminaire

Le séminaire Maghreb du Temps présent s’inscrit dans les actions du chantier prioritaire du GIS Moyen-Orient Mondes musulmans consacré aux études maghrébines et dans le prolongement du Livre blanc sur les études maghrébines. Ce dernier avait constaté, à l’échelle nationale, la rareté des lieux d’échanges pour les spécialistes du Maghreb, faute d’unités de recherche dédiées et, dans un cadre international, le cloisonnement croissant entre la recherche pratiquée au Maghreb et la recherche menée à l’étranger.

Ce séminaire entend donc fédérer la communauté scientifique travaillant sur le Maghreb (doctorant·es, post-doctorant·es, enseignant·es-chercheur·es et chercheur·es) en faisant dialoguer les recherches en sciences sociales sur les sociétés maghrébines contemporaines menées en France, au Maghreb ou ailleurs, dans une perspective non eurocentrée, attentive aux temporalités, à la stratification sociale, aux processus politiques et économiques ainsi qu’aux types d’écritures de l’histoire. En cela, il s’inscrit également dans le projet de l’IHTP de réfléchir aux conditions propres de la production de la connaissance sur le temps présent selon les différentes aires culturelles.

Le séminaire accueille toutes les recherches en sciences humaines et sociales contemporaines, mobilisant une profondeur historique plus ou moins ample. Il met particulièrement en valeur les recherches ancrées dans les terrains maghrébins, en encourageant le dialogue entre disciplines. Il prend la forme de discussion de travaux récents ou en cours menés par des jeunes chercheur·es et chercheur·es confirmé·es.

 

Appel aux doctorant·es travaillant sur le Maghreb pour présenter leur recherche dans le séminaire Maghreb du Temps présent

Le séminaire s’organise en deux temps : il proposera tout d’abord un dialogue avec les chercheur·es confirmé·es, figures marquantes du champ au Maghreb et dans le monde, avant de discuter des thèses en cours ou récemment soutenues. Les doctorant·e·s ou jeunes docteur·es. seront invité·e·s à présenter leur thèse, à l’issue de leur terrain, à un stade initial ou final de la rédaction, devant la communauté rassemblée par le séminaire. Un·e chercheur·e confirmé·e sera invité·e à discuter leur intervention, après une discussion entre les doctorant·es et l’équipe organisatrice. La participation est ouverte aux candidats soucieux de présenter leur recherche, cette année ou les suivantes, après une sélection effectuée par les responsables du séminaire.

Les candidats désireux d’intervenir doivent adresser un dossier de candidature à seminaireMTP[at]gmail.com avant le 31 octobre 2024. Le dossier comprend :

• un curriculum-vitae et un certificat d’inscription en thèse ;
• un résumé de leur thèse de 2 pages précisant leur état d’avancement ;
• un titre et un résumé d’une demi-page de leur intervention prévue ;
• une proposition facultative de discutant·e ;
• le choix des séances où ils ou elles seront disponibles parmi les séances suivantes (14h-16h30) : 29 février, 19 mars, 30 avril et 28 mai 2025.

Les doctorant·es sélectionné·es seront informé·es d’ici le 20 novembre 2024.

Conditions d’éligibilité :
–           Préparer ou avoir récemment soutenu une thèse de doctorat dans toutes les disciplines des sciences humaines et sociales impliquant un travail sur le terrain déjà accompli au Maghreb (documentaire ou ethnographique), entendu au sens large (Mauritanie, Maroc, Tunisie, Algérie, Libye) ;
–          Être inscrit au minimum en 3^e année de thèse à la rentrée 2025 ;
–          S’engager à participer à toutes les séances du séminaire pour l’année.

Seminar presentation

The Present Time Maghreb seminar is part of the “priority project” of the GIS Moyen-Orient Mondes musulmans dedicated to Maghribi studies. It is designed as an extension of the Livre blanc sur les études maghrébines, published in 2023. This study underlined, on a national scale, the scarcity of space for discussions between specialists of the Maghreb, due to the lack of dedicated research units and, internationally, to the growing compartmentalization between research carried out in the Maghreb and research carried outside of the Maghreb. This seminar therefore intends to bring together the scientific community working on the Maghreb (doctoral students, post-doctoral students, researchers) by connecting social science research on contemporary Maghreb societies carried out in France, in the Maghreb or elsewhere in the World, from a non-Eurocentric perspective, with a particular attention to temporalities, social stratification, political and economic processes as well as styles of historical narrative. As such, the Seminar is also part of the Institut d’histoire du temps présent’s aim to reflect on the specific contexts in which knowledge about the present in produced on different continents. The seminar welcomes all researchers working in contemporary humanities and social sciences, with an attention to the historical depth of the topics under study. It aims to shed light on research anchored in fieldwork carried out in the Maghreb and encouraging a dialog between disciplines. It takes the form of the discussion of recent or ongoing work carried out by young or more experienced researchers.

 

Call for doctoral students working on the Maghreb to present their research in the Seminar

The seminar offers two types of sessions: the first is designed as a dialog with experienced researchers, key figures in the field, in the Maghreb and/or worldwide; the second is designed to discuss ongoing or recently defended research projects. Recent doctors, or doctoral students having already conducted fieldwork or in the writing up stages of their dissertations, are invited to present their thesis before the Seminar community. A more confirmed researcher and another doctoral student (chosen after a discussion between the organizing team and the presenter) will discuss their presentation. Participation is open to candidates wishing to present their research, this year or the coming years; they will be selected by the seminar leaders.

Candidates wishing to present their work in the Seminar should send their application to seminaireMTP[at]gmail.com prior to October 31, 2024. Their application should include:

• a résumé and a thesis registration certificate;
• a 2-page summary of their thesis specifying their progress;
• a title and half-page summary of their planned intervention;
• optional: a suggestion for the discussant;
• a choice of sessions amongst the following 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on February 29, March 19, April 30 and May 28, 2025.

Selected doctoral students will be informed by November 20, 2024.

Candidates wishing to present their work in the Seminar should: 

• Be preparing or have recently defended a doctoral thesis in human and social sciences. Documentary or ethnographic fieldwork in the Maghreb (Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya) should already have been conducted prior to the presentation;
• Have reached the 3^rd year of their PhD at least by the Fall of 2025;
• Commit to participate regularly in the seminar sessions(remote via Zoom).

تقديم الندوة

تندرج ندوة «المغرب الكبير في الزمن الراهن» في إطار مشرو ع يديره المجمع العلمي الفرنسي لدراسات الشرق الأوسط والعالم الإسلامي والذي خصص للدراسات المغاربية. وتأتي الندوة في أعقاب الكتاب الأبيض حول الدراسات المغاربية، الذي قد أشار إلى أنه، على المستوى الفرنسي، كان هناك عدد قليل من المنتديات للمتخصصين في الدراسات المغاربية لتبادل الأفكار، وذلك بسبب عدم وجود مؤسسات علمية مخصصة، وعلى المستوى الدولي، كان هناك فجوة متزايدة بين البحوث التي أجريت في المغرب الكبير والبحوث التي أجريت في الخارج.

تهدف هذه الندوة إلى الجمع بين الأوساط العلمية (من طلاب الدكتوراه وطلاب ما بعد الدكتوراه وباحثين وباحثات) التي تهتم بمجتمعات المغرب الكبير المعاصرة من خلال جمع بحوث العلوم الاجتماعية التي أجريت في فرنسا أو في دول المغرب الكبير أو في أي مكان آخر، من منظور غير أوروبوي، يهتم بالزمان والطبقات الاجتماعية والعمليات السياسية والاقتصادية وأنواع الكتابة التاريخية. وبهذه الطريقة، تندرج هذه الندوة أيضًا في إطار مشروع معهد التاريخ الزمن الراهن المخصص للتفكير في الظروف المحددة لإنتاج المعرفة حول الزمن الراهن في مختلف المناطق الثقافية

ترحب الندوة بجميع البحوث المعاصرة في العلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية، بدرجات متفاوتة من العمق التاريخي. وهي تركز بشكل خاص على البحوث المتجذرة في دول المغرب الكبير الخمس (ليبيا، تونس، الجزائر، المغرب، موريتانيا) وتشجع الحوار بين التخصصات. وتتخذ الندوة شكل مناقشات لأعمال حديثة أو جارية لباحثين شباب وكبار الباحثين.

 

دعوة لطلاب الدكتوراه الذين يعملون في المغرب الكبير لتقديم أبحاثهم

ستُنظم الندوة على مرحلتين: أولاً، سيكون هناك حوار مع باحثين راسخين وشخصيات بارزة في هذا المجال في المغرب الكبير وبقية العالم، قبل مناقشة الأطروحات قيد التنفيذ أو التي نوقشت مؤخراً. ثانيا ستتم دعوة طلاب الدكتوراه لتقديم أطروحاتهم، في نهاية عملهم الميداني أو في مرحلة أولية أو نهائية من الكتابة، أمام مجموعة الندوة. ستتم دعوة أحد كبار الباحثين لمناقشة عرضهم التقديمي، بعد مناقشة بين طلاب الدكتوراه والفريق المنظم. المشاركة مفتوحة للمرشحين الراغبين في تقديم أبحاثهم هذا العام أو في السنوات اللاحقة، بعد عملية اختيار يقوم بها منظمو الندوة الدراسية.

 – سيرة ذاتية وشهادة تسجيل الأطروحة؛

 – ملخصًا من صفحتين عن أطروحتهم، مع ذكر تفاصيل عن التقدم المحرز فيها؛

 – عنوانًَا وملخصًََا من نصف صفحة عن محاضرتهم المخطط لها؛

– اقتراح اختياري للمناقش؛

 – اختيار مواعيد الجلسات التي ستكون متاحة فيها من بين الجلسات التالية (من الساعة 14:00 إلى 16:30): 29 فيفري و19 مارس و30 أبريل و28 ماي 2025.

 

سيتم إخطار طلاب الدكتوراه المختارين بحلول 20 نوفمبر 2024.

:شروط المشاركة

– أن تكون قد أعدت أو دافعت مؤخرًا عن أطروحة دكتوراه في أي تخصص في العلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية يتضمن عملًا ميدانيًا (وثائقيا أو إثنوغرافيا) تم إجراؤه بالفعل في المغرب الكبير، بالمعنى الأوسع (موريتانيا، المغرب، تونس، الجزائر، ليبيا)؛

– أن تكون مسجلا في السنة الثالثة على الأقل من أطروحتكم في بداية العام الدراسي 2024-2025؛

– أن تكون ملتزمًا بحضور جميع جلسات الندوة لهذا العام (عن بعد، حسب الاقتضاء)
