Appel à communications : International conference about “River Jordan”, Oriental Institute, University of Oxford (Royaume-Uni), 13-15/10/2014 — URGENT
The ARAM Society for Syro-Mesopotamian Studies and the Sue and Leonard Miller Center for Contemporary Judaic Studies at the University of Miami, through its Director, Prof. Haim Shaked and Prof. David Graf, organise an international conference about the River Jordan, to be held at the Oriental Institute, University of Oxford, 13-15 July 2015.
The conference aims to focus its attention on the three northern sources of the river Jordan (the Dan, Baniyas, and Hasbani streams) and the area of the Sea of Galilee (the sea itself not a topic of the conference) and the Jordan river’s southern course up to where it enters the Dead Sea (the sea itself not a topic of the conference). Essentially, the conference would cover in its study both banks of the river Jordan (not the hinterland of the riparian countries).
The conference will start on Monday 13th July at 9am, finishing on Wednesday 15th July at 6pm. Each speaker’s paper is limited to 45 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes for discussion. All papers given at the conference will be considered for publication in a future edition of the ARAM Periodical, subject to editorial review. If you wish to participate in the conference, please contact our Oxford address:
